Qatar Airways is steadily rebuilding its South African network and will soon sport 28 weekly flights from Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg combined.
Cape Town is increasing to seven weekly flights from March 1. Durban already increased to three weekly flights from February 14 and Johannesburg has already increased to 18 weekly flights from January 26.
The Qatari carrier is also rebuilding its global network, which currently stands at over 120 destinations, with plans to increase to over 130 by the end of March.
The airline offers unlimited date changes and fee-free refunds for all tickets issued before April 30 2021 for travel completed by December 31, 2021.
South African Tourism ceo, Sisa Ntshona, said the organisation is delighted at the confidence shown by Qatar Airways increasing its air capacity to South Africa in these challenging times. “This certainly demonstrates to the world that South Africa has put the necessary measures in place to ensure that it is safe for travel in the COVID-19 environment.
