One of the many reasons to visit Réunion is to see the Piton de La Fournaise volcano, one of the most active in the world. The volcano erupted on June 11, the second eruption this year. The first lasted 20 days during March and April. Travellers wanting to see this spectacular sight can book a helicopter or microlight flight, visit the lava tunnels or discover the history of the volcano at the Cité du Volcan in Plaine des Cafres. The Réunion Island Tourism Board is represented in South Africa by Atout France. Taking in the views of the volcano is Chloë Francomme, promotion assistant, Réunion Island Tourism Board – South Africa.
