Many in the industry were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Megan Fineberg, Owner of Constantiaberg Travel. After a long battle with an autoimmune disease, Fineberg passed away on Tuesday, August 6, shortly before her 60th birthday.
Fineberg successfully ran several travel companies throughout her 37-year career in the industry, beginning her journey at Budget Car Rental in 1987. She was the face of Magic Travel in Johannesburg in the 90’s.
Sharon Fergusson, Sales Executive of Rogers Aviation, and a close friend of Fineberg, said Megan was well-respected and well-loved in the travel industry, both in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
“She was a true travel agent who went out of her way to assist her clients no matter what time of the day. She was a kind and generous person always willing to support her travel colleagues,” said Fergusson.
Mary Reynolds, CEO of Reynolds Travel, was also a close friend of Fineberg and said she was one of the most caring and creative leisure travel consultants in the industry.
“She was the most dynamic person I have ever met in the travel industry. She was a true icon and a people person – loved by all in the travel industry. She gave out her knowledge freely and was an amazing consultant and manager,” Reynolds said.
Fineberg leaves behind her brother Russell Fineberg and sister Gillian Reynolds.
