The MyCiTi airport route resumed operations on Monday (November 1), just in time for the festive season.
The route once again offers a direct service between Cape Town International Airport and the central business district for the first time since March 2020.
The buses depart every 30 minutes from the Civic Centre and the airport MyCiTi stations, between 05h00 and 21h30 on weekdays and between 06h00 and 21h30 at weekends.
“The MyCiTi station is right outside the airport terminal building, which makes it easy and convenient whether you are arriving or departing,” says the City of Cape Town Mayoral Committee Member for Transport, Rob Quintas. “The MyCiTi airport route is an ideal option for getting to the CBD, from where visitors can seamlessly transfer to other MyCiTi routes that service other parts of Cape Town.”
Commuters need a loaded myconnect card to travel on the service, which can be purchased from any MyCiTi station kiosk for R35.
Regular passengers, such as those working at the airport, can buy a monthly pass for R790 while frequent flyers can choose from day passes valid for one, three or seven days. Children under four travel free.
The MyCiTi app is also recommended for planning trips and getting live updates on bus arrivals.
