MSC Cruises will start using biometrics on its MSC for Me mobile app and website to enhance safety and efficiency.
Neurotechnology is the company behind MSC’s biometrics solution, which will be integrated into the cruise line’s platforms. The Face Verification System will capture guests’ photos and store them securely within MSC’s onboard systems, serving as a reference throughout the cruise. This is also expected to significantly improve the pre-cruise check-in and embarkation processes.
Passengers can capture their own facial images on their mobile device or webcam. The system ensures that these images are taken correctly, without obstructions such as hats or sunglasses. MSC Cruises officers will then use the images to confirm identities.
“This new feature embedded in our digital channels further elevates the customer experience of our guests by ensuring an even smoother and faster embarkation process,” said Luca Pronzati, Chief Digital Technology Officer at MSC.
