A ‘pangolorium’, a veterinary and rehabilitation facility for pangolin has been opened by the African Pangolin Working Group, with the building sponsored by Lepogo Lodges in the Lapalala Wilderness Reserve.
The pangolorium will offer a safe rehabilitation and release space for pangolins rescued from the illegal wildlife trade. The facility will also be equipped with a comprehensive veterinary unit with state-of-the-art medical technology, including a sonar machine to address the unique health challenges faced by rescued pangolins.
