LUFTHANSA Group has now said it
will accept all credit cards issued in
the name of a corporate regardless of
the order in which the names of the
corporate and agent appear on the
credit card.
Earlier this month, TNW ran the
story “Card clampdown continues”
(June 6). Andre Schulz, gm of the
Lufthansa Group for Southern
Africa, told TNW it would only accept
lodge cards, where the name of the
company appeared first, followed
by the agency. The group has
subsequently issued a statement
saying it doesn’t distinguish based on
the order of the names on the card.
“Travel agents may always use the
private/corporate customer credit
card if these cards are issued in
the name of the private/corporate
customer or in the name of the
traveller,” the statement says. “If the
credit card issuance or the contract
with the credit card company has
been made with a corporate/private
customer or the traveller, such cards
are accepted.”
