Korean Air will soon begin weighing passengers as well as their carry-on luggage at two different airports in South Korea.
However this is not a new trend, but a temporary measure necessary for statistical information to feed into government policy on ‘Aircraft Weight and Balance Management Standards’, which needs to be recalculated every five years.
Passenger weight will not affect boarding and will not be connected to passengers’ identification, so travellers will not be concerned about their data being collected.
