The Tanzanian government has allocated TZS100bn (R681m) to upgrade Kilimanjaro International Airport.
The project includes the resurfacing of the runway, the installation of modern airfield lighting, constructing a VIP lounge accommodating 80 people, as well as new administration blocks and water tank installation, reports Daily News Tanzania.
The improvements are expected to accommodate the increasing number of visitors and enhance service quality.
Kilimanjaro International Airport is the main gateway for tourists visiting Tanzania, particularly those heading to attractions like Mount Kilimanjaro and the Serengeti.
