High-speed train travel between Orlando Airport and Miami will be one step closer, after a successful trial-run by the new ‘Bright Blue 2’ train last week, reports The Points Guy.
The rail service, known as Brightline, ran its first test of the black and yellow (not blue) train into the new Terminal C of the airport.
Brightline currently services stations between Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.
The connector project from Orlando to Miami cost a total of $2,7bn (R42,6bn). It’s about 80% complete and will start carrying passengers from Orlando to Florida in 2023.
The 381km trip between Miami and Orlando will take about three hours, which shaves off an hour or more from travel time by car.
