Hamiltons Tented Camp, set deep in the heart of the Mluwati Concession of the Kruger National Park, has completed an extensive refurbishment.
The iconic luxury camp, named after the legendary Colonel James Stevenson-Hamilton (first warden of the Kruger National Park), is also known for its unique riverside position.
Cindy Sheedy Walker, who has been involved in the concession since 2002, said: “Hamiltons Tented Camp presents the perfect opportunity to position its newly refashioned and restored tented suites to include a gorgeous outdoor ‘Sala’ complete with relaxation area, minibar and private plunge pool.”
She said the existing tented suites had had a soft refurbishment, while the makeover of the showers included the installation of a French door opening on to the river-side deck. The lounge and dining areas have been enhanced and refreshed.
“Our new private dining deck with a firepit feature will enchant everyone whilst they enjoy a privileged position on the edge of the N’waswitsontso River. The entirely new look and its stylish design will ensure that Hamiltons remains at the top of its class in the tented camp category.”
Hamiltons Tented Camp was the first of the trio of Imbali Lodges within the 10 000ha Mluwati concession. This intimate tented camp is the epitome of old-world style and follows the traditions of the grand safari.
Located adjacent to the Manyeleti and Northern Sabi Sands Game Reserves, this pristine wilderness allows visitors to experience the unexplored spaces of Kruger. 35km from Orpen Gate or 61km from Skukuza, the camp is an easy self-drive or fly-in destination from Skukuza or Hoedspruit. The Manyeleti airstrip is available for Federal Air shuttles or private charter aircraft.
Sheedy Walker said: “Hamiltons is in one of the most picturesque locations in the Kruger and already delivers a world-class safari experience, so its refashioning and enhancement is going to be a very popular change for our loyal clients. We look forward to showing off the new look from July 2022.”
Sustainability has always been at the heart of the concession models and the extremely light footprint of this camp is an example of the extraordinary care taken of the pristine environment. “We can’t wait to share our little piece of Kruger paradise with you all. With a yearning for wide-open spaces immersed with intuitive service and unrestrained luxury, our guests are all set to embrace the Hamiltons experience,” said Sheedy Walker.
Hamiltons Tented Camp is managed by Extraordinary, a collection of luxury lodges and hotels in Southern Africa.
