THE sale of a 10% share of Cape-based incentive travel company, Achievement Awards (AA), to United States-based Maritz Corporation - a world leader in incentive programmes which generates revenue of US$2bn a year - is a "momentous development" as it will give the AA Group access to its substantial research, marketing and networking muscle.
This is the opinion expressed by AA group client operations director, Barry Coltham, who says the partnership of Maritz will provide valuable insight into foreign markets.
According to him, Maritz organises more than 1 000 group trips worth more than US$1bn to 270 000 people a year, counting many Fortune 100 companies amongs it clients.
Coltham also announced that AA has contracts in place, still to run over the next few years, worth R150m.
