G adventures has announced a new collection of active itineraries in lesser-known destinations in response to customer demand.
The company saw a 16% increase in the number of travellers booking active trips in 2024, and has now released 25 more active trips to cater for this surge in interest.
New itineraries include hiking in the Karakoram Mountains in Pakistan; kayaking and island hopping in Kyoto and Okinawa in Japan; hiking through Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro; bushwalks and hiking in Cape Town, Kruger and Tugela Falls; 4x4 rides across the desert in Jordan; hiking the Rif mountains in Morocco, and diving in the Galápagos before hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
The trips will cover three physical grading categories ranging from easy to moderate or challenging.
“Travellers are seeking authentic experiences, but active ones, too. Interest has soared in this category, with more travellers wanting to switch off and connect with the world on a more physical level,” said Yves Marceau, VP of product.
“We’ve hand-picked destinations with the intention of looking beyond the usual trails and, instead, are bringing travellers to lesser-visited regions and villages via incredible hiking routes, kayak trips and biking excursions, helping to support local communities who haven’t been able to benefit from tourism in the past.”
