In celebration of Disney’s 100th anniversary, The Walt Disney Company Africa and local domestic low-cost airline LIFT have joined forces and co-branded an aircraft as part of its centenary campaign, ‘May Your Wishes Come True’.
“Rolling out in stores nationwide from November, May Your Wishes Come True is Disney’s biggest retail campaign to date. This collaboration with LIFT truly celebrates this togetherness with families and fans,” said Luke Roberts, GM, Consumer Products, Games and Publishing, The Walt Disney Company Africa.
The livery features iconic characters from Disney, Marvel and Star Wars, with a brand-new character, Asha, from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming film, Wish, which will be released in cinemas nationwide from November 22. The Disney-inspired aircraft, ZS-GAS, was unveiled on October 20 while servicing routes between Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
“To mark our 100th anniversary (October 16, 2023), The Walt Disney Company is celebrating the fans and storytellers who have sparked the joy and magic that embodies Disney over the last century. We hope that this exciting and unique collaboration with LIFT will bring delight to travellers of all ages this holiday season as we mark this milestone anniversary,” said Christine Service, Senior VP and GM of The Walt Disney Company Africa.
On board, customers will experience special Disney and LIFT surprises like children’s activity packs, giveaways and treats. LIFT will treat travellers to surprises between December 1 and 12 on selected flights as South Africans get ready for the festive season.
