INDONESIA is more than just
Bali.
This was the message at
the Indonesia Sales Mission
held on October 3 at The
Maslow hotel in Sandton.
The workshop hosted
by Singapore Airlines,
Wonderful Indonesia and the
Ambassador for Indonesia
in South Africa, Salman
Al Farisi, showcased a
broader range of Indonesian
product, giving travel agents
a bigger overview of what the
destination has to
offer tourists.
Selling the rest
of Indonesia is
the challenge,
says Herman
Rukmanadi, md
of Bhara Tours.
“Many people
don’t know Bali
is in Indonesia. We’re
driving a campaign to give
agents and their travellers
a greater understand of the
destination.”
There is great potential for
agents. Phillipa Matshoe,
sales executive
at Thompsons
Holidays, says
she easily sees
10 000 clients
going to Bali in
a year.
Agents
can look out
for special
promos, schedule changes
and the possibility of
increased flight frequency
on Singapore Airlines to
Indonesia from October, says
Rachael Donalds, national
corporate sales manager.
