Aviareps Southern Africa has cancelled its plans for domestic charter flights, which were scheduled to operate this week (June 8-12).
Charmaine Thome, gm of Aviareps Southern Africa, told Travel News that bookings they had have been moved to other scheduled domestic airlines.
“The charters were in planning prior to any scheduled airlines being filed. It was put together with a licensed charter company and marketed to the trade. It was a way for us to begin activating the market and getting some of our friends and colleagues back to work,” Charmaine says. “The demand was really minimal, and when the scheduled airlines filed fares in the GDS systems, we made the decision to cancel the flights.”
