Given recent developments and following extensive consultation with global security experts and government authorities, Cunard has made the decision to reroute its cruise itineraries to bypass the Red Sea and the surrounding area.
Instead of calling at Dubai on April 7 before sailing the Red Sea and transiting the Suez Canal on April 17, Queen Mary 2 will now sail around the west coast of Africa via Cape Town.
What does this mean for South African cruisers?
Following the announcement of the repositioning of Queen Mary 2, cruises are being offered at incredible value, and now is a good opportunity to offer clients a cruise to Lisbon or Southampton at hugely reduced rates!
Queen Mary 2 returns to Cape Town in April
Departing April 13, guests can sail for 12 nights to Lisbon, arriving April 25. Alternatively, they could sail for 15 nights to Southampton and arrive on April 28.
