German rail company Deutsche Bahn saw connections operated by Lufthansa increase 25% last year compared with 2019.
This is since the two expanded their partnership to add more trains to the air-rail co-operation programme.
“Where aviation and rail co-operate, we record double-digit growth rates,” says Michael Peterson, Director of Deutsche Bahn’s long-distance division. “Our expanded feeder services to the largest German airport, Frankfurt am Main, are part of this success.”
Lufthansa says it sold around 575 000 air-rail tickets with Deutsche Bahn in 2019.
