Radisson Hotel Group has joined the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) in ongoing support of integrated sustainable tourism practices.
The Group’s membership of the GSTC is part of its focus on driving cross-industry co-operation and establishing transparent and measurable standards for sustainability within the hospitality industry, as well as encouraging co-ordination between the private and public sectors.
“At Radisson Hotel Group, we believe the best way to achieve concrete results and move the industry on the path to nett zero by 2050 is to work alongside global partners and industry bodies, such as the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. Sustainability is not competitive but rather collaborative. Together we can aim to help solve the global issues we all face,” says Inge Huijbrechts, the group’s Global Senior VP Sustainability, Security and Corporate Communication.
During the recent COP27 in Egypt, Radisson Hotel Group reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability by signing the Glasgow Declaration and encouraging other hospitality groups to join the call for strong action to halve emissions over the next decade and reach nett zero emissions as soon as possible, and before 2050.
The hotel group already partners with global ecolabels such as Green Key, Earth Check and Green Tourism, recognised by GSTC, which audits the hotels’ sustainability performance.
