Hilton is to open a Canopy by Hilton in Rosebank, Johannesburg, in 2023.
The 180-room hotel will be on Jellicoe Avenue, across the road from the Keyes Art Mile Precinct and close to the Circa modern art gallery. Facilities will include a rooftop bar, pool, and garden area.
Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vp development for EMEA at Hilton, said: “The growth of Canopy by Hilton at both ends of the African continent is indicative of what we see as demand from travellers looking for immersive, cultural travel experiences in established destinations.”
Canopy by Hilton launched in 2014, and currently operates in 15 destinations around the world. The company says it has more than 40 Canopy properties in the pipeline.
