Hong Kong has introduced new restrictions for travellers from high-risk areas, including South Africa, effective from July 25, according to the HK government website.
Following an increase in new COVID-19 cases, travellers from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nepal Pakistan, Philippines and South Africa will need to produce a negative test (conducted within 72 hours before departure) to be allowed into the region.
The government has also made the wearing of masks mandatory since yesterday (July 20) in all indoor public places and on public transport.
