Royal Caribbean Cruises has officially taken delivery of its latest vessel, Utopia of the Seas, after more than two years in construction.
The ship was delivered weeks before its inaugural sailing on July 19 from Port Canaveral in Orlando, Florida. The cruise line said the ship would debut with three-night weekend and four-night weekday getaways.
“From the ultimate multigenerational vacation on this year’s earlier debut of Icon of the Seas to now the ultimate weekend getaway on Utopia of the Seas, we are laser-focused on delivering a variety of vacation options and priceless memories for our guests,” said Jason Liberty, Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO.
The ship features five different pools, from resort-style and sloping beach-entry pools to the adults-only Solarium pool and the exclusive Suite Sun Deck. Thrill-seeking cruisers can try their skills on the surf simulator, a 10-storey zip-line, or the 79-metre dry slide, the longest at sea.
A Caribbean tiki bar, casino, live music and over 40 dining options complete the entertainment options.
