TOURVEST Travel Services is set
to significantly grow its client
base as a result of American
Express Global Business Travel’s
(GBT) acquisition of the Hogg
Robinson Group (HRG) in July
2018.
At the end of February, GBT
announced that, following the
acquisition, a new GBT entity
had been formed drawn from the
existing GBT and HRG networks
and that Tourvest had been
selected as the partner for the
newly formed GBT in this market.
All South African companies
contracted to HRG globally will
move over to Tourvest as a result
of the acquisition.
“The HRG clients will be made
very welcome by the GBT South
Africa family,” said Tourvest ceo,
Sean Joubert.
Morné du Preez, ceo of Tourvest
Travel Services, told TNW that the
migration would result in
a substantial increase in
Tourvest’s market share.
Early last month,
Rennies Travel announced
that it had joined BCD
Travel’s global network.
BCD and Rennies will
operate as separate
entities within the Bidvest
group.
Bronwyn Philipps,
Rennies Travel ceo,
said joining BCD’s
network would enable
Rennies Travel to better
support its customers
and that HRG clients
currently serviced by
Rennies Travel formed a
small percentage of its
combined business. “It’s
ultimately our customers’
choice to stay with us or
move.”
