Singapore Airlines has been confirmed as the first international airline to operate at the new Western Sydney International Airport.
The airport is more than 80% complete and is on track to open in late 2026.
The airport operator and SIA signed an agreement regarding the airport in 2023. “This agreement reflects our commitment to enhancing network connectivity for travellers to and from Sydney, and providing additional services for Australia, which is a major market for the Singapore Airlines Group,” said Louis Arul, Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President South West Pacific.
Western Sydney Airport CEO Simon Hickey said it was a major milestone for the airport and reflected the positive response the airport had had from various airlines.
