Saudia has announced its return to South Africa with the reopening of reservations for its Jeddah to Johannesburg service.
The flights return to South Africa from December 1, following a hiatus since April 2020.
The airline plans four weekly flights, served by the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
According to airspace-africa.com, the return of these flights marks a significant step forward for Saudia as it re-establishes its position in the South African market.
The flight schedule for the Jeddah-Johannesburg route is as follows:
- Flights SV447 and SV446 will operate on Saturdays and Mondays. SV447 will depart from Jeddah at 13h50 and arrive in Johannesburg at 20h05. SV446 will depart from Johannesburg at 21h40 and arrive at Jeddah at 05h35 the following day.
- Flights SV449 and SV448 will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays. SV449 will depart from Jeddah at 01h20 and arrive in Johannesburg at 07h35. SV448 will depart from Johannesburg at 08h50 and arrive in Jeddah at 16h45.
The new Saudia routes will be the only non-stop connection available between Saudi Arabia and South Africa. Reservations for flights between December 1, 2023, and January 29, 2024, are already open.
