With its jet-black brick façade, BlackBrick is a striking mixed-use residential building on Fredman Drive, Sandton, housing an unique-concept hotel, BlackBrick Hotel.
The building was oncehome to beer Titan, SAB AB InBev, and in keeping witha growing drive to revitalise disused commercial properties in Johannesburg and surrounds, the repurposed building and hotel bring a modern, trendy new option to Sandton.
The hotel, which officially opens this month, is set across two floors of the building and will offer 75 apartment-style guest rooms. Five Mini Coopers on site are available on a car-sharing app for guests' use. The property also features energy-saving technology, fast WiFi, USB chargers and smart TVs.
There are two restaurants on site and all guest rooms are fitted with kitchenettes for self-catering.
Hotel guests get free access to the BlackBrick members' club facilities and experiences, which include a cinema, library, roof-top boma, yoga meditation garden and boxing gym. A personal trainer and weekly boot camp are also on offer.
The building also offers a range of flexible, inspiring work and meeting spaces for individuals, groups and conferences, supported by high-speed fibre.
“BlackBrick fits perfectly into our portfolio of extraordinary venues that deliver memorable experiences,” said director of Southern Spoor, Anita Foxcroft. “BlackBrick will offer affordable, unique accommodation in a desirable location, and a range of cool services that will make the hotel a destination in itself.”
