The Emerald Collection is set to open a new beach resort hotel, Emerald Zanzibar Resort & Spa, in Zanzibar by June 2022.

The five-star resort will be in Matemwe, on Muyuni Beach on the north-east coast, 45 minutes from Zanzibar International Airport.st.

Emerald Collection ceo, Ermenegildo Scarapicchia, said: “This is an entirely new project for the island and for East Africa. It includes a wellness centre, a kids’ club, a diving centre and, of course, our deluxe all-inclusive stay formula.”

The resort will have 250 rooms and the guest experience across all room categories includes high-speed WiFi, free access to all non-motorised water activities, a snorkelling excursion and a boat tour.

The four dining options will offer a choice of cuisine, from Asian traditional dishes, to fresh fish, seafood and meat.

Guests will also have free access to the fitness centre including a gym equipped with the latest Technogym machines, two tennis courts and two Padel (a mixture of tennis and quash) courts.

The Emerald Collection, founded and owned by the Scarapicchia family, has over 40 years of experience managing luxury five-star properties in the Indian Ocean, the Caribbean, and East Africa.
