French rail company Puy du Fou is launching new luxury train, Le Grand Tour France, in October.
According to blooloop.com, the train features 15 elegant cabins, two dining cars and a luxury bar car. It will feature immersive shows and gourmet dining, and accommodates just 36 passengers.
It is designed as a moving theatre, and passengers learn how historic figures have shaped civilisation through culture and the arts while rediscovering the golden age of rail travel on this authentic Belle Epoque train, described as a work of art.
Its six-day journey across France travels from Champagne in the north-east to Puy du Fou in the west. Along the way, it passes Burgundy, Lake Annecy, the Arcachon Basin, châteaux of the Loire Valley, and the Palais des Papes in Avignon.
Bookings start from €4 900 (R98 750) per person. The company expects to attract 6 000 guests this year.
