November 1 saw KLM Royal Dutch Airlines pulling out all the stops to deliver a spectacular anniversary bash in celebration of its 85th year of flying to Johannesburg.
Guests were treated to a dazzling set-up at Katy’s Palace in Kramerville, Johannesburg, as Marjan Rintel, KLM’s President and CEO delivered an address.
“We all suffered during COVID, and we still need to solve some operational problems. We are currently at 90% capacity… We are improving every day. 2023 was better than 2022 and 2024 will be even better, when we will be at 100% capacity – hopefully by the end of the year,” she said.
Sustainability is at the heart of KLM’s recovery strategy, and in line with this, Rintel revealed that KLM buys 17% of the world’s available sustainable aviation fuel.
Affirming KLM’s commitment to its customers, Rintel remarked; “We want to offer our customers the best service we can and we need to put effort into you, the customer, in everything we do.”
