The Olympic Games in Paris drove average daily rates for hotel rooms to an all-time high, according to data from CoStar, a property analytics provider.
Paris saw a room rate increase of 141%, according to the data. Accommodation rates spiked on the opening night of the Olympics on July 26 at €876 (R17 515) per room, per night.
Room rates remained above €700 (R13 840) for the duration of the games. The previous record peak for Paris room rates was in June 2023 when average daily rates reached €622 (R12 435) per room, per night.
RevPAR increased year-on-year by 200%. This easily surpasses the rates seen during the 2012 Olympics in London.
Occupancy in Paris grew only 24,1%, less than that seen in London.
