Holland America Line has introduced new cruise itineraries that will offer guests extraordinary views of celestial events.
The 2026 Celestial Cruises Programme will focus on the Northern Lights, the summer solstice and the solar eclipse, and will include ample viewing opportunities, lectures from experts and themed activities.
For a view of the solar eclipse, three ships will be positioned under the path of totality, due on August 12, 2026. While Oosterdam will take guests to the Mediterranean to witness the eclipse off the East coast of Spain, Nieuw Statendam will be sailing off the West coast of Iceland for views of the event. Guests aboard Zuiderdam for the Voyage of the Vikings will also be eligible to see the solar eclipse.
The Rotterdam and Nieuw Statendam will offer guests perfect views of the Aurora Borealis during its highly active season in October 2026, on itineraries which explore Norway and the Arctic Circle.
Lastly, Nieuw Statendam will take cruisers to Honningsvåg, Norway, and the Arctic Circle to experience the summer solstice, the longest day of the year.
