Ski season has come early and, along with it, a luxury sleeper train will offer skiers passage to the Italian Dolomites.
From December 18, the Espresso Cadore train will run from Rome to the famous ski resort, Cortina d’Ampezzo.
This is the first of Italian state-owned railway company Ferrovie dello Stato’s many new tourist train routes. Treni Turistici Italiani will include three types of services, reports euronews.com, and provide passengers with access to many other ski spots in the Dolomites.
Throughout the northern winter, the Espresso Cadore will depart every Friday evening and arrive on Saturday mornings, offering two-, four- and six-person sleepers in both first and second-class.
The train features a restaurant, an all-night bar, and storage for bikes and skis. Passengers can also rent e-bikes and purchase ski passes on board.
