Direct charter flights to Zanzibar

Holiday Packages by AfricaStay has announced it will go ahead with charter flights to Zanzibar.

From September 19, the operator will have one flight per week, on Sunday. But more good news is, from early in December, it will move to three flights a week, on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, until around January 20.

The charter will be operated by Global Aviation Operations who will utilise Airbus A320 aircraft (similar to that being operated by LIFT) configured to 168 seats.

The operator is informing its clients who have AfricaStay-Mango vouchers (resulting from Mango stopping its Zanzibar operations) that they may exchange the vouchers for tickets on the new flights at no additional charge, valid for two trips only - September 19-26 and September 26- October 3.  Africastay clients who cannot travel on those two trips will be able to exchange their AfricaStay-Mango vouchers for credit towards tours using the new Zanzibar flights. The offer is subject to availability and T&C, and it is not available over the high season.

AfricaStay ran charter flights with great success (chartered from Mango) for nine months in 2013, leading to Mango getting rights for scheduled flights.

Marian Sandu, director of Holiday Packages by AfricaStay said: “South Africans love Zanzibar – it offers great value for money. We will be doing lots of promotion for these packages.”
