Detroit Metropolitan Airport’s oldest runway will undergo a major overhaul in 2019, and will be closed from April to November of that year.
Runway 3L/21R is one of four parallel runways at the airport, which has a further two crosswind runways. Aircraft will be diverted to other runways while work is being carried out.
The project is expected to be completed in time for the American winter in 2020.
