The New Zealand Immigration Department says travellers who do not submit tourist visa applications at least two months before the busy peak summer season in December may not receive their visas on time. October 15 is the deadline.
Immigration New Zealand (INZ) said it was expecting to receive over 260 000 visitor visa applications during this peak processing period.
“We are asking that anyone who plans to travel to New Zealand for Christmas to submit their application no later than 15 October 2024. Anyone travelling in the New Year, including Chinese Lunar New Year, should submit their application no later than 15 November 2024,” said INZ Director, Jock Gilray.
He warned that applications submitted after these dates might not be processed in time for intended travel dates, especially if applications were submitted incorrectly.
INZ added that travellers should take note of recent changes to visa charges, which will increase from NZD211 (R2 315) to NZD341 (R3 740) on October 1.
