American Express has confirmed plans for a Centurion Lounge at Newark International Airport (EWR) in 2026. The company also has lounges at New York JFK and LaGuardia airports.
The Newark lounge will have views of the Manhattan skyline and feature a jazz bar inspired by the musical movement in New Jersey, and a piano lounge with music and cocktails. An archival collection of artifacts and antiquities will commemorate the state’s history. The lounge will also have a 130sqm indoor terrace overlooking the airport, reports simpleflying.com.
The company confirmed that Platinum and Centurion cardholders would have access to the lounge.
Until now American Express cardholders travelling on Delta or Lufthansa had access only to the Delta Sky Club in Terminal A or the Lufthansa Business and Senator Lounges in Terminal B.
United Airlines operates flights from JNB and CPT to EWR.
