Icelandair has announced Istanbul as the newest addition to its route network, providing South Africans with an alternative route to Iceland.
Flights from Keflavik International Airport in Reykjavik to Istanbul Airport (IST) will operate four times a week from September 5, 2025, with a flight time of around five hours and 30 minutes.
Icelandair and Turkish Airlines will also further expand their codeshare partnership, first announced in 2023.
Icelandair’s schedule to Istanbul will be co-ordinated to align with Turkish Airlines’ flights to and from Asia and the Middle East.
