Edmund Makona has been appointed acting CEO of Air Zimbabwe by Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development.
Airspace-africa.com reports that Makona, an experienced aviation expert, takes over from Tafadzwa Zaza, who served as acting CEO for 16 months.
Makona’s appointment is expected to last for the next six months, during which time a substantive CEO is expected to be recruited.
Having previously served as Air Zimbabwe CEO, relaunching the airline in 2013, as well as Afraa president, Makona is expected to bring valuable strategies to the airline as it strives to turn around its business operations.
